RESULTS OF COUNCIL ELECTION

Congratulations to Dottie Cleal, Mary Dietz and Dan Crandall on their election to Church Council on  October 4, 2009. They will serve three year terms commencing in January 2010.

DOTTIE CLEAL

I have been a member of St Luke for almost three years.  I am a Saint Luke

2009/2010 Teacher for Senior High and a member of the Altar Guild.

I was Fellowship Committee Chair at Epiphany Lutheran Church and

Maintenance Committee at St Marks Lutheran Church.

I am a Retired Naval Officer with 28 years of active duty – US Navy CAPT.  I previously worked as

a political appointee at the White House under the Clinton Administration (served as the Associate Director of Information Systems & Technology); Navy Program Director and VP at Systems Research Applications (SRA) for 8 years; currently working as Federal Systems Strategic Manager for Belarc, Inc.

Married (Husband recently passed away).  Two grown children and six beautiful grand babies.

I feel the calling and desire to contribute to St Luke in a more measurable and meaningful way. It is my privilege to be considered for this position.

DAN CRANDALL

I am a 12 year member of St Luke’s and involved in many aspects of the church.

I served as Sunday  School Superintendent for 5 years and am currently a

Sunday School teacher for the “barnyard gang”.  I served as an assisting minister,

usher or whatever needs to be done.

I am married to Sharon and have two wonderful kids, Katie (16) and Josh (12).  I am currently employed

by AmeriGas propane.

I am looking forward to serving the congregation in this new capacity.

MARY A. RIDENOUR DIETZ

My roots are in Ohio, and I came to Richmond from New York when Bob

and I married.  We joined St. Luke in 1969.  During the early years, we were

very involved in the Youth Program, and I handled the Adult Forum.  Career

and raising a family kept me from accepting leadership roles beyond that point.

I have retired from careers in Marketing, Public Relations, Public Affairs, and Training.

We unfortunately lost Bob in 2006.  Our daughters Rachael and Richelle remain strong in their faith.

Pastor Rachael is serving a congregation in Pennsylvania.  Richelle is in graduate school   and is assisting with the Youth Program at a Lutheran church in Raleigh.
